Travel chaos has once again hit Manchester’s Piccadilly train station as trains ground to a halt just metres from a platform before reversing half a mile to Oxford Road.
Commuters are being left frustrated after finding out that ALL services have been delayed owing to a signal failure.
It is, as yet, unconfirmed when services will resume and passengers are unimpressed.
Rachael Hawes, a 26-year-old commuter told MM: “I’ve been stuck on the train at the station for ages and now, all of a sudden, we are reversing away!”
Paris Rogers commented on Twitter: “Actually hate Piccadilly right now. Stuck on the train. And the station has a power failure.”
Trains to Manchester Airport have been cancelled until further notice.
Worried commuters trying to reach the airport took to grouping together to find taxis.
Network Rail are currently working to fix the problem but there is no indication as to when the signal fault will be fixed.
