A 20-year-old care worker who was killed by two taxis as she rowed in the street with her boyfriend in Wigan has been identified.
It is believed Megan Hoskins, 20, accidentally stepped into oncoming traffic during a late night row in the early hours of Sunday, and was hit by both vehicles.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Ormskirk Road, Wigan, around 12.45am to find Megan lodged underneath a black Skoda Octavia.
Firefighters managed to pull her from beneath the vehicle before being rushed to hospital, where she died several hours later.
Speaking on Facebook, one of Megan’s friends, Kerry Layland wrote: ”Thinking of you xxx this is how close you were & my hearts torn in two stay strong sweetheart love you so much xxxxx.”

Today, Greater Manchester Police said a 20-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter but has been released since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Paul Rollinson from Wigan division, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with this young woman’s family and friends at this tragic time while they come to terms with their loss.
“We are trying to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information about what happened before, to call us with any information.”
Police confirmed that shortly before the collision there had been an altercation between Megan and the suspect.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
