A suspicious device and a firearm have been found at a home in Rochdale, causing residents to be evacuated.
Police reacted to reports at 11.30 this morning that items had been discovered at a house on Oldham Road and responded by evacuating homes nearby and set up a cordon around the area.
The road has been closed and motorists are advised to avoid alternative routes, while the Metrolink service has also been suspended between Rochdale and Newbold.
