Salford fashionistas overcome adversity to sashay down catwalk and promote body image in charity project

By Danielle Birtles

A group of Salford women who have overcome life-threatening illnesses and challenging backgrounds are preparing to strut their stuff in a fashion show to promote body image tomorrow.

Promising an evening of glamour, REVIVE community fashion show will send clothes down the catwalk that have been recycled, reused and reinvented.

Community Change Programme spokeswoman Natasha Ruddock said: “We hope this will be an evening that will really encourage women who are struggling with life issues and really build their confidence so that no matter what challenges they are facing, they can get through it.”

The clothes and accessories showcased during the event will be available for sale after the show.

The fashion show is being hosted to raise funds for the Community Change Programme who help people restore and rebuild their lives through education, training, awareness and events.

The event will be held in Salford at Victory Outreach church July 19 from 6.30pm.

Tickets are available online at www.community-change.co.uk or on the door.
