Around 32,000 participants ran the 26.2 mile course across Greater Manchester on Sunday, raising over £3 million in the process.
Supporting numerous different charities, either for the first time or in an effort to set a new personal best, a record number of people took part, with around 125,000 residents lining the streets to show their support.
The route started in Trafford on course for the city centre, before a loop took runners down through Stretford, Sale and Altrincham before the long trip back to Trafford for the final few miles to the finishing line.
A group in a six-man caterpillar costume set a new world record for the fastest marathon in a six-person costume and we got a surprise appearance from the marathon’s new mascot, Chester the Bee – who was joined by the much loved Manny the Bee.
Numerous different charities were represented on the day and alongside each runner’s individual fundraising, event organisers Human Race have pledged to donate £1 to the Trafford Active Fund for each participant.
Anyone who crossed the line received a bespoke 2024 finisher medal and a t-shirt with an exclusive designed.
As the rain managed to hold off for the entirety of the day’s proceedings, it was a family fun-filled day for everyone across the region.
