A woman was subjected to a brutal rape last week when she was dragged into a Levenshulme car park by a man who had befriended her only moments earlier.
The victim, who is in her 40s, had been walking along Ross Avenue on Sunday July 7 at around 2am when she was approached by a man who began a conversation with her.
As they walked together, he suddenly dragged her into the Royal British Legion car park and raped her.
The man is described as being black, in his 30s, around 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and wore glasses.
Detective Sergeant Claire Phythian, based at Harpurhey Police Station, said: “As you can imagine, the victim has been left terribly shaken and specially trained officers are helping her get through her ordeal.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the attack or seen a man with a similar description acting suspiciously to contact police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 1894 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
