Three teenagers have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle in Bury on Saturday.
The boy is recovering in hospital in a serious but stable condition after the attack happened in Wylde, Bury town centre.
Officers were called at around 11.05pm following reports of an assault and found a teenager with serious stab wounds to the neck, believed to have been caused by a broken bottle.
After an investigation three youths, all aged 17, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and remain in police custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Caroline Ward said: “Although we have made three arrests, I would urge any witnesses who may have witnessed an altercation between the teenager and a group to come forward.”
