Tearful tributes have been pouring in following the tragic death of a man whose car collided with a tree in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The family of David McClusky, 28, have expressed their shock and devastation after he died when his Toyota Celica hit the tree on Smallshaw Lane on Saturday May 4.
Police were called to the scene just after 3.50am, where they found the mangled Toyota in a nearby garden.
Fire officers found two men inside the car who were cut free from the vehicle and taken to hospital.
His family said: “David has been tragically taken from us. David was many things to many different people and he will be sadly missed by family and friends and everyone who knew and loved him.”
David, from Ashton-under-Lyne, suffered multiple injuries and died in hospital.
A 23-year-old man who was a passenger in the car suffered a head injury.
Sergeant Lee Westhead from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are continuing to investigate what happened in the lead up to this collision and are appealing for anyone that saw David’s car, a black Toyota Celica, driving prior to the incident, or anyone that witnessed or heard the collision in the early hours, to call us.
“Our thoughts remain with David’s family and friends at this devastating time.”
