Two men who tried to kidnap a woman and drag her into a car as she walked in the Strangeways area of Manchester are being hunted by police.
The incident took place between 6:15pm and 6:36pm on Monday, when a 21-year-old woman was grabbed by two men driving a silver five-door saloon as she walked along Ramsgate Street.
While the driver pulled over, the passenger got out and tried to talk to the woman – blocking her exit.
As the woman attempted to walk past, the passenger became more aggressive and grabbed her arm.
Fortunately, the victim managed to break free from her aggressor and escaped towards her home, before seeing the assailant get back in the car as it drove off.
Detective Constable Phil Sutcliffe said: “Although the investigation is at an early stage, there are a number of lines of enquiry that we are following up on as we try to find the two men responsible for putting this poor woman through such a terrifying ordeal.
“I would like to reassure the community that we believe this to be an isolated incident however I would please like to urge anybody who has any information or who sees anything suspicious to please contact the police.”
The passenger of the vehicle has been described as a 6ft 3in Asian man, wearing dark blue jeans and a dark leather coat. He isof skinny build with brown hair, and speaks with an Asian accent.
The driver is described as an Asian man.
