Two robbers wearing motorbike helmets stormed a Prestwich bank this week, grabbing a terrified customer as hostage while they demanded cash.
The duo raided the TSB on Bury New Road, Prestwich, at around 4.20pm on Monday September 9.
They grabbed hold of a female customer and began to threaten her while ordering bank employees to hand over a large quantity of cash.
The robbers then fled outside and got into the back of their getaway car, a blue Peugeot 207, and escaped with the money.
Detective Constable Andy Pidd said: “This must have been scary for any staff and customers who got caught up in it, not least the customer who was grabbed and threatened.
“Thankfully no-one was hurt, but that doesn’t lessen the impact of this violent crime on the victims.
“I now want to hear from anyone who was there at the time, if we haven’t yet spoken to you, or, indeed, anyone who may have information.”
Both robbers were described as slim. One wore a large grey hoody with blue tracksuit bottoms while the other wore a black hoody with dark tracksuit bottoms.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
