‘Pathetic’: 02 Priority crashes as Peter Kay fans scramble to buy tickets

Fans of Bolton-born comedian Peter Kay have expressed their frustrations as 02 Priority crashed before early access tickets went on sale.

O2 and Three mobile customers were given access to an early pre-sale for Peter Kay’s long-awaited return to stand-up, Peter Kay Live, in December.

Problems with the O2 Priority app started last night and the website was still down when the tickets went live at 10 am on Thursday, November 10.

One customer tweeted: “Pathetic, so much for O2 priority.

“Do you not plan for surges and high demand to stop the app crashing?”

Another said: “What’s the point of a presale when the priority app is down?”

O2 have responded to the complaints, saying: “We’re seeing unprecedented demand for Peter Kay tickets & we know a lot of you can’t access Priority.

“Sorry, we’re working on it. Please be patient; this is by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for Priority Tickets in 15 years. The presale lasts for 48h so keep checking.”

Some fans were able to access tickets by googling O2 Priority and their chosen venue and following the link to ticket website Gigs and Tours.

General tickets go on sale on Saturday 12 November at 10am.

The popular Car Share star will be performing at the Manchester AO Arena on December 2 and 3 as well as dates in late 2023.

Amid the chaos, tickets are already on reselling site Viagogo for £363.
