The hunt for two men who viciously raped a 17-year-old boy in Eccles has been stepped up after police re-appealed for information.
It is now believed the incident happened between 12.10am and 12.42am on Wednesday October 8 while the boy was walking in Buille Hill Park in Eccles.
He was approached by two hooded men, one from the front and the other from behind, who pushed him to the floor and raped him.
Detective Chief Inspector Clare Devlin said: “This is a very serious incident, which has left a boy traumatised and I would urge anyone with information to contact police immediately.
“I would like to make a direct appeal anyone who may have been walking in Buile Hill Park between 11pm and 1am.
“We understand that the park is popular with dog walkers and I would ask anyone who was walking their dog in the park at the time of the incident to contact us, even if you don’t think you have any relevant information.”
The attackers, described as white and in their late twenties, were both wearing shorts and hoodies with the hoods up. One of them had blonde hair and was wearing glasses.
Det Chief Insp Devlin added: “The boy is obviously extremely distressed, having been subject to a vicious attack and we are doing all we can to support him.
“There will be extra police patrols in the area of Buille Hill Park in order to reassure the public and I would urge people to take extra care, remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings.”
