A prolific 67-year-old shoplifter was detained by PCSO’s in Manchester City Centre this morning after police found up to £200 worth of meat in his bag.
Just before 11am a suspicious passer-by called 999 after an edgy looking man approached him and reportedly tried to sell him joints of meat, which he presumed were stolen.
The suspect has since been arrested on suspicion of theft and remains in custody under police questioning.
Police have confirmed the man is known to them.
