Heroin, crack and stacks of cash seized as eight arrested in Oldham police raid

A stash of heroin and crack cocaine – worth up to £7,000 – and a significant amount of cash was uncovered in an early morning raid in Oldham today.

Eight addresses were raided and eight people were arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs by Greater Manchester Police.

The arrests came after months of investigations by officers as part of Operation Plumbline, a new programme from Oldham’s Organised Crime Team and Serious Crime Division to crackdown on drug distribution in the Oldham area.

Inspector Paul Walker said: “We are continuing to fight Organised Crime and drugs in Oldham and today’s second strike shows our determination to rid our streets of drugs.

“We are listening to our communities, who have told us they want drug-dealers taken off their streets, and we are taking action.

“Operation Plumbline has taken months of intricate planning and dedication by a large team of officers from across the Force.”
