This shocking CCTV footage shows shotgun-wielding masked men bungle a late-night robbery at a busy McDonald’s in Manchester.
The terrifying ordeal happened around 10.55pm on Friday, June 6 2014, at the branch on Oxford Road, a busy student area.
There were a number of petrified customers inside when the armed robbers struck.
Three masked men entered the store, one armed with a shotgun, and pointed the delay weapon at one of the restaurant’s employees.
One of them vaulted the counter and tried and failed to open a till. However, he failed and the trio left empty-handed.
They then ran off across Oxford Road and down Denmark Road.
Detective Constable John Seaton, based at Longsight, said: “We have release some really clear footage of the robbery today in the hope that people will be able to identify them.
“It was a 24-hour McDonald’s so when these robbers marched in there were a number of customers there.
“Thankfully no-one was hurt but it would still have been a scary incident to have witnessed.”
