Sex beast jailed in Manchester after brutal rape and forced prostitution on trafficked Romanian victim

By Danielle Wainwright

A rapist who subjected a vulnerable Romanian woman to a series of violent and degrading sex attacks by forcing her to work as a prostitute was jailed yesterday at Manchester Crown Court for 15 years.

Marcel Vasile, 42, BOUGHT the woman from his country of Romania she was 18 years old from father and son Bogdan Nejloveanu, 53, and Marius Nejloveanu, 25, in 2008.

He took the victim to a house in Dagenham, London, where he held her captive and brutally raped her, taking the woman to various brothels and forcing her to become a prostitute.

Vasile was found guilty of a charge of rape, trafficking within the UK for sexual exploitation and controlling prostitution for gain.

Detective Constable Colin Ward, from the Sexual Crime Unit, said: “The victim has endured an absolutely horrendous time, first at the hands of Marius and Bogdan Nejloveanu and then Marcel Vasile.

“She was forced to work as a prostitute up and down the country and subjected to violent and degrading sex attacks.”

On March 19 2008, the victim was able to escape from Vasile and went to police where Vasile was arrested and provided false details, giving his name as Nicusor Serban.

The frightened victim was reluctant to give full details about her ordeal and support a prosecution and he was released without charge.

After the arrests of Marcel and Bogdan Nejloveanu by Greater Manchester Police, and free from Vasile, the victim found the strength to support a prosecution.

Enquiries to identify Nicusor Serban led officers to identify Vasile, who at that time had been extradited to Spain where he was sentenced to four years nine months.

A European Arrest Warrant was obtained and Vasile was extradited from Spain on December 12 2012 where he has to return to Madrid to finish his sentence there before returning here.

DC Ward said: “Vasile and those of his ilk see women as nothing other than commodities that they can use for financial gain or to satisfy their own sexual desires.

“I must commend the victim for having the bravery and strength to support this prosecution. As a result, Vasile will now be joining his fellow traffickers in prison.”
