Parklife has urged people to come forward following a brutal attack that has left a reveller fighting for his life.
Around 9.15pm on Saturday a 26-year-old man was dancing with his girlfriend in front of the Festival’s main stage when he was attacked by an unknown man.
He was given CPR at the scene by two people believed to be off-duty medical personnel after he was knocked unconscious.
“We pride ourselves on a history of Parklife Weekender without any incidents,” the statement read.
“We regret that an isolated incident has taken place at this year’s event, however medics were on the scene within minutes of it taking place.”
The victim was taken to North Manchester General Hospital but has since been transferred to Hope Hospital after his condition had deteriorated
“We will update as soon as we can and we are in constant contact with the medical services and police to help as much as possible,” Parklife said.
“We urge festival goers to help the police identify the individual involved in the incident and contact them if they have any information at all.”
The offender is described as a mixed race male, around 25 years with short, curly black hair which was shaved at the sides.
He has a muscly build and around 6ft tall.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
