Can we nick it? Yes we can! Wigan thieves steal cement mixer truck worth £110,000

By Danielle Wainwright

A cement mixer truck worth £110,000 was taken from a Wigan yard last month as the thieves closed the gate behind them as they drove off in the stolen truck.

The theft took place on Monday October 28 at 9.27pm when the offender scaled the perimeter of the yard on Queen Street.

They were able to gain access into the compound and removed the padlock from the main entrance gates before driving out with the cement truck and closing the gate behind them.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information on the theft of The Mercedes Axor cement truck registered GN08 RHA with a ‘Hanson Premix’ sign displayed on the drum.

Police Constable Paul Hamilton said: “If you were in the area and remember seeing this truck being driven away or you have any other information about where this truck has been taken, we would very much like to hear from you.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 7124 or Crimestopppers on 0800 555 111.
