CCTV images of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a clubber in a Northern Quarter bar last month has been released.
The 26-year-old woman was in Lammars on Hilton Street with her friends on Saturday September 29 when they were approached by a group of ‘rowdy’ and ‘boisterous’ men just after 1am.
At around 1.50am one of the men from the group sexually assaulted the woman who then threw her drink on him. Members from his group then threw her to the floor and repeatedly kicked her.
At the same time two of her friends aged 52 and 19 were also assaulted by the group. One of the men also verbally assaulted the victim telling her that an offender within the group was his son. He then punched one of the women in the face before being dragged off by a staff member.
Detective Constable Adam Cronshaw said: “This was a deplorable incident whereby a large group of men – some of whom were extremely well built – have assaulted, indiscriminately, a number of women.
“One of these women was sexually assaulted, one has suffered a fractured jaw and another woman unconnected to the group has also been spat at.
“We believe that there are a father and son within the group and are appealing for witnesses and the public to help us identify all involved.”
The man suspected of sexual assault is described as white, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 10in tall, in his mid-20s, with short brown hair and wearing a black short sleeved top.

DC Cronshaw added: “If you can recognise anyone in the CCTV images or have any information please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
