The family of Rebecca Ayres have released a heart-felt tribute, saying ‘life will never be the same’, after the young mum was stabbed to death at her Salford home yesterday.
Ms Ayres, 24, known as Becky or Becks to her friends and family, was found dead at her home after suffering multiple stab wounds.
The tribute goes on to discuss the ‘devastating impact’ Rebecca’s death has had on the Salford community, thanking them for ‘kind messages of support, tributes and condolences’ claiming they ‘take comfort in the amount of support shown’.
The tribute read: “Becks was our hard working, ambitious and fun loving princess who lived life to the full. She had a smile that would light up any room, and the hearts of every one she came into contact with.
“She was a special daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, aunty and friend to many. She was a doting mum to her three-year-old son who was her life.
“On behalf of her family and friends, we would like to thank you for all the messages of support, tributes and condolences received and take comfort in the amount of support shown.
“Life will never be the same, and it is unfair that we have to go on without her in our lives.”
A special mention also went out to Rebecca’s ‘MONACO’ Morris Dancing Troupe of which she was a member from a very early age.
Fellow members of her group left loving messages on social media sites earlier today.
Lucy Reid said: ”Rip Becky Ayres, taken too soon. thinking of all your family and Monaco Morris dancing, you will be truly missed in the dancing world.”
Ravelle said: “So so so sad about Becky Ayres always a smiley girl and a true Morris dancer taken far too soon! RIP xxxx.”
Rebecca’s boyfriend of 18 months, Liam King, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
