The key pledges of Donald Trump’s victory speech

Donald Trump took to the stage in Florida earlier this morning to deliver a series of initial pledges to the American people.

The ex-president vowed to pay down debts, reduce taxes and provide a strong and powerful military. Trump invoked the defeat of ISIS when claiming that he would stop wars, not start them.

The presidential candidate also touched upon border policy, stating: “We’re going to have to seal up those borders.”

He added that he plans to let people into and back into America provided it’s done through legal means.

Trump concluded his speech by promising safety, security and great education for all, swearing by the simple motto of: “Promises made, promises kept”.

In an address to his fans, Trump said: “Many people have told me, God spared my life for a reason.

“And that reason was to save our country.”
