A man has died after being struck by a tram in Prestwich yesterday afternoon.
The 33-year-old man, who has not yet been named, died when he was struck by a tram near Prestwich tram station at around 1.30pm.
Police and Metrolink closed the tram network while emergency services dealt with the scene.
Tram services were suspended between Whitefield and Crumpsall and delays continued throughout the day.
A limited service on the Bury line ran while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Normal service has now been resumed.
A police spokesman said anyone with information about the man’s death should get in touch.
