A Mike Tyson wannabe sunk his teeth into another man’s ear in a ‘horrific’ punch-up in a Manchester off-license.
The incident occurred at Bobbys Off Licence, on Rochdale Road, in Collyhurst on January 28 just after 10pm.
An argument broke out inside the off-license between a 51-year-old man and another man, thought to be in his 40s.
Things turned heated and the confrontation soon escalated into a brawl.
During the scuffle, one of the men then bit into the 51-year-old’s left ear, reminiscent of when Mike Tyson bit off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear in a heavyweight boxing contest in 1997.
He then fled the scene on a bike.
Detective Constable Jacqueline O’Hara, of Central Park Police Station, said: “What started out as a minor disagreement rapidly descended into a full-on fist fight.
“However, the level of violence used was way out of proportion with any argument as the offender sunk his teeth into the victim’s ear.
“This must have been horrific for the victim to endure that level of pain and he now has a permanent physical reminder on his ear of this violent attack.”
The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injury.
Police are now looking for a white male, around 5ft 8” tall with a stocky build, short fair haired and aged around his 40s.
Anyone with information about the attack should call police on 0161 856 3925 / 3919 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
