A group of friends will cycle more than 750 miles from Bolton to Bolton via Land’s End to raise £30,000 for a children’s hospice.
The eight Boltonians will set off on June 6 in a gruelling nine-day ride dressed as their favourite superheroes in aid of Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Organiser Jeff Walsh highlights the motive behind the act:
He said: “I’m sure that most of you, like us, have very fond memories of your childhoods. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case for many children.
“Through illness some children need specific care together with support for their families. It’s because of this that we decided to choose two very worthy children’s hospices to support in 2013, one of which is Derian House.”
The hospice, which costs more £2.9million per year to run, provides a free service and relies on donations for the majority of their funding.
