A masked man who ‘randomly’ knifed a teenager in the leg as he drove past him in his car is being hunted by Greater Manchester police.
The youngster was walking along Mayfair Road, Wythenshawe at 2.45am on Saturday February 16, when a man in a black VW Golf slowed down behind him.
The offender then got out of the car and lunged towards the victim, stabbing him in the leg before driving off towards Croftlands Road.
Detective Constable Lee Freeman based at Wythenshawe Police Station said: “We believe this was a random attack that has left a young man with a seriously painful injury. Thankfully, he is recovering from his injuries and has been released from hospital.”
The attacker is described as being 6ft tall, of slim build, wearing a black hooded top with his face covered and black tracksuit bottoms.
“Understandably, members of the community will be disturbed by what has happened but I can reassure them that we are doing all we can to help find the person responsible for this attack.
“However, we do need local residents to help and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police as soon as possible.”
