Little by little, fans of legendary Manchester band Oasis seem to be edging closer to realising their dream of seeing brothers Liam and Noel performing together again.
Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who, spoke of his ambition to reunite the group in 2015 for his annual Teenage Cancer Trust gigs.
The rock legend seemed very optimistic in reconciling the estranged brothers for the event – one which both have helped in recent years.
He told The Sun: “Noel and Liam are brothers so it will all be alright. Don’t worry. Blood is thicker than music.
“Could I bring them together for a Teenage Cancer Trust show? Ask me next year.”
The news sent Twitter into frenzy with many people clinging to the hope of seeing the pair together again, however some fans remained pessimistic at the thought of the two brothers gracing the stage together again.
John Bell tweeted: “If Roger Daltrey can get Oasis back together (like he’s claiming in the press today) then I’ll have a tattoo of his face on my ar e! #Oasis.”
The Who frontman also recently confirmed that he will reunite with Pete Townshend to make a new The Who album later this year.
Oasis fans may now finally be able to stop crying their heart out and see their favourite Mancunians perform once again.
The group split in 2009 after a bust-up between Liam and Noel – Noel has gone on to embark on a solo project while Liam and the other members formed Beady Eye.
