Masked thugs burst into a man’s Leigh home and attacked him with a baseball bat in front of his young son as he was about to leave home for work.
At about 8.20am last Tuesday the 24-year-old was in the hallway of the house on Datkins Road.
The pair barged in and hit the man with the bat on his legs, shins, arms and body then escaped – without making any demands.
The man’s 27-year-old girlfriend also witnessed the brutal assault.
Detective Constable David Fairhurst is urging anyone with information to come forward.
“This was a violent attack on a young man who was about to leave for work, and we are carrying out a full investigation to find out who was responsible,” he said.
The pair left in a green MG which headed in the direction of Warrington Road.
They were both white, in their 20s, of slim build and about 5ft 6in tall.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7411 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
