The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has launched its #Dechox challenge for people to give up chocolate and sweet treats during March and raise funds for the charity.
There are three choices for the challenge, which urges people to quit snacking to help raise money for life saving research.
Those wanting just to quit chocolate can sign up for ‘Chocoholic for Change’, signing up to be a ‘Sweet-Toothed Supporter’ means going one step further and giving up sweets and chocolate.
While signing up to be a ‘Leader of the Snack Pack’ will mean no chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks.
The BHF found 41% of people they surveyed ranked chocolate as their number one treat, showing this challenge will be no easy feat!
COVID-19 has cut the BHF’s future research funding by half.
The money raised in the #Dechox challenge will help fund medical breakthroughs regarding heart attacks, strokes, diabetes and vascular dementia.
Those ‘Dechox warriors’ taking part in the challenge can sign up on the BHF website and then create their own fundraising page on the just giving website.
