Iconic stage outfits from the world’s biggest pop stars are now on display at Manchester’s Hard Rock Café at The Printworks.
The Hard Rock Couture exhibition chronicles the influence that musicians and singers have had on fashion starting with the rock ‘n’ roll explosion of the 1950s through to the modern day.
Nestled among the restaurant’s impressive memorabilia collection, visitors will get the chance to admire costumes from music legends including Michael Jackson, Madonna and Elvis Presley.
Devotees of pop queen Madonna have the chance to get up close and personal with her infamous gold conical corset worn during the 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour.
Michael Jackson fans will get the chance to admire the red leather jacket worn in the music video for No.1 hit Beat It.
A striking monochrome spandex catsuit sported by flamboyant Queen frontman Freddie Mercury during their 1978 Jazz Tour, a barely-there sequinned Katy Perry dress and a practically demure Lady Gaga netted dress are also on display.
Hard Rock Historian and tour curator Jeff Nolan said that he and the team had spent nearly two years unearthing musical treasures from the 77,000-piece Hard Rock collection.
He said: “The collection showcases a unique part of music history and gives fans an opportunity to see that history first-hand.”
The exhibition will be on display at Hard Rock Café, The Printworks, Manchester until September 8 and is free of charge.
