Legoland received more than 1,000 applications from people desperate to become a model builder at their site in the Trafford Centre.
The master model builder role – which is being hailed as a dream job– is one of only 24 in the whole world.
A typical day will see the successful candidate create colourful masterpieces at the Legoland Discovery Centre located in the popular shopping outlet in Trafford.
Bosses spent in excess of 20 hours sieving through applications, which included picture and video evidence of what people were capable of constructing.
A shortlist has since been determined – and now it’s crunch time for candidates who have made it this far.
The remaining applicants will take part in an intense ‘build off’ at the site on Saturday, August 4.
Jenn McDonough, General Manager Manchester Cluster, Merlin Entertainments, said: “We’re really excited about meeting our master model builder candidates.
“We’ve received some incredibly impressive applications, so I’m sure it’s going to be a close call, but I can’t wait to see what our aspiring master model builders are going to create.
“The successful candidate will be joining an already brilliant team to ensure guests are provided with an inspiring and fun-filled experience.”
The judges panel is made up of the attraction’s very own Creative Crew, which is a team of six to 10-year-olds with an eye for all things Lego.
In the first of the tasks, candidates will be given just 20 minutes to battle it out in a unicorn vs monster truck build off.
Those with the skills will then go through to a Manchester-themed round, which will see them construct a special model based on the city.
Ultimately only five people will make it through to one-to-one interviews as they move one step closer to their dream job.
