Altrincham has been labelled as one of the happiest places to live in the UK, an annual survey has revealed.
The town ranked number 17 on the Rightmove survey – which more than 21,000 people responded to.
Locations are ranked based on whether people feel there is a sense of belonging and factors such as local amenities, community spirit levels and proximity to green spaces.
The Greater Manchester town is home to the Altrincham Market and is praised for its great transport links and the top schools in the area such as Altrincham Grammar School for Girls.
Stamford Park, the River Bollin and the National Trust’s Dunham Massey are some of the town’s popular open green spaces for its residents to visit.
However, with average property prices of £615,246, the houses in Altrincham do not come cheap.
