Two balaclava-clad thieves raided a One Stop shop in Moston yesterday morning, fleeing with cash and cigarettes – police are appealing for witnesses to the crime.
The masked duo coerced fearful staff members to open the shop safe immediately after they had opened the store. The men are said to have fled with cash and cigarettes.
Police Constable Claire Johnson of North Manchester division said: “This robbery left the staff members very shook up and we want to catch the offenders as soon as possible, before they target anyone else.”
The offenders had approached two staff members who opened the Moston Lane store at 6:45am on Monday August 31, before pushing them into the shop and demanding that they open the safe.
The first assailant is described as white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, medium build and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a blue hoody and a black balaclava.
The second is described as white, about 5 feet 3 inches tall, smaller build, wearing green tracksuit bottoms and black Adidas trainers. He spoke with, what has been described as, an Irish accent.
PC Johnson added: “If you saw the robbery or recognise the descriptions of the offenders, I would urge you to contact police.”
