Greater Manchester’s answer to Ace Ventura captured a snake that was on the loose in Chorlton this morning.
Officers responded to reports earlier today that a 4ft snake was seen slithering along the road in Meadow Bank.
They arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area and caught the rust-coloured reptile before eventually reuniting it with its delighted owners who last saw the snake two months earlier.
A Chorlton GMP spokesman said the snake, though unusual, was one of many animals that had been rescued by officers in the last week.

He tweeted: “Cool… I wish I’d gone to that J would have topped off the wood pigeon and goose from the last set of shifts!
“I hope it found its owner safely! Will check the incident log tomorrow. Love the brush that the cop has… it isn’t police issue :)”
The snake was discovered curled up on the road basking in the shade in the sunny suburb.
