A fire has broken out in the city of Manchester and caused disruption around the centre of town.
At around 11am this morning, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service was called to Burger King in Piccadilly Gardens after people were evacuated from the building.
With the blaze above the fast food restaurant no one was injured and firefighters rapidly tackled the incident.

A cordon remains in place around Piccadilly Gardens and emergency services remain on the scene.

A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly after 11am today (Friday, March 1) five fire engines from fire stations were called to reports of a fire involving a commercial building on Market Street, Manchester.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using two hose reels and a jet to tackle the fire. Crews remain in attendance.”
A ladder and hoses were used to put out the fire. No one was injured in the incident.
