Manchester has been placed on the prestigious Lonely Planet list of 2023’s best destinations.
The only UK city on its 30-strong list, council leader Bev Craig said it is a sign “we are making our mark on the world stage”.
Manchester was included in the Learn category of the list, and also praised for “being an accessibility-friendly destination that’s also doing a lot for sustainability”.
The list highlighted the new Castlefield Viaduct sky park and the soon-to-be-opened Factory International venue, stating the city had “something for everyone”.
