Two new schemes are set to be launched in Manchester which aim to continue the rise of the fastest-growing racquet sport in the UK.
Club de Padel, Manchester’s first dedicated padel club, has partnered with one of Manchester’s largest running clubs – MADE running.
Additionally, a new 10-court padel centre will open in Manchester’s Victoria North regeneration area in early 2025.
Starting on 30 September Club de Padel will host MADE Running every Monday from 6:45pm at The Club on Owen Street.
The free running club attracts around 300-400 runners each week of all abilities and offers bag drop, cold drinks, coffee and toilet facilities to runners.
Founder of MADE running Hermen Dange said: “We’re building something more than just a run club; they’re building something more than just a padel club and we love that.
“It’s also a great location, well lit, security patrolled streets; we’re confident our community will feel safe and welcomed.”
Another padel development is the new 10-court centre located on Peary Street in New Town which will cover an impressive 13,000 sq ft with other sports to become available at the centre such as boules.
Rachel Tan, Social Sport Society’s Director of Growth and Development, said: “This venue represents our commitment to helping unlock the potential of regeneration areas.”
The site will join brands such as Fairfield Social Club, Green Arches Brewery and Bar, Half Dozen Other bakery, and Foundation Coffee in the Red Bank and MeadowSide areas.
