What’s the HTML5 technology?
The first HTML protocol took five years to develop and was introduced by a British scientist in 1991.
It was intended to transmit scientific and technical information without linking to display media.
Web pages made with this technology can be displayed in a browser.
The full official publication of this structuring language dates back to 1993 and since then it has come a long way in its improvement.
What is HTML5 and what is it good for?
HTML, like HTML5, is a special structuring language for improving the presentation of web pages to humans and parsers.
Today it’s the standard for hypertext markup.
Since the first version of HTML, it has undergone significant changes and each successive version has improved upon the previous one.
The latest version of HTML to be introduced is version five from 2014.
HTML5 enhances the capabilities of web resources and web applications, making them more flexible and interactive.

As far as codes are concerned, the updated technology includes three codes.
The first, HTML in version five, allows the structure to be preserved.

Together, these three codes allow websites and applications made from scratch with HTML5 to be cross-platform and cross-browser.
HTML5 makes a web page stand-alone from plugins and third-party APIs.
Immediately after the technology update, all major browsers agreed to use the new standard.
This includes Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer (version nine and above).
Almost every website now uses HTML5 technology, otherwise, their promotional tool will prove ineffective.
Internet has become much faster with HTML5
Earlier versions of HTML used the JS library, which was certainly a comfort at the time.
With the advent of version five of the technology, it became apparent that it had too many advantages over the outdated version.
This includes the speed of loading web pages.
Let’s look at two options for page load speed and why HTML5 is the winner over other technologies.
In the first case, the “N” site has a page load speed of five seconds, because the site is built with old technology.
In the second case, the developers use some tools that are only available in HTML5.
These are:
- Reducing the size of images
- Reducing the weight of images
- Reduction of CSS, JavaScript codes, minification of files of various kinds
- Reducing HTTP requests
- Use of subdomains for parallel downloads
- Placing CSS elements at the beginning of the page
- Placing JS elements at the end of the page
- Using CDN to download JS content
- Archiving.
With these measures, the loading speed is reduced to one second.
The fact is that no one likes long loading times and according to statistics, more than 30% of users will permanently leave a site whose speed does not match their needs.
This is why version five of HTML is attractive to developers of various web applications as well as users in terms of loading speed and data visualisation.
Internet has become much safer with HTML5
The advent of HTML5 has raised the bar for technical requirements for web resources.
One of these is security and in this respect, HTML5 has left Flash far behind.
All known browsers have begun to reject Flash en masse.
This forced even the creators of Flash to drop it at the end of 2020.
This was a highly anticipated event that has been dragging on for more than 10 years.
Essentially all of the outdated technology consisted of critical holes, making it completely safe.
When downloading a file via Flash, this plug-in in the browser application activates its process with memory storage.
Hackers have been very quick to find solutions to get to the system without much effort.
To fix their bug, developers were constantly creating updates, but this only solved the problem for a short time.
The technology was not even halfway compliant with accepted standards for security on the web, and this is just one of the problems identified with Flash.
Right at the dawn of Flash’s fame, iOS and macOS creator Steve Jobs bluntly declared that he would never use it in his products.
According to him, this software did not inspire confidence because it cannot fully ensure security.
In 2014, another version of HTML5 was released and it alone was able to close all the problems that had plagued Flash.
While this technology exposed users to the very real risk of picking up a virus or falling victim to attackers, the new coding language offered absolute security.
HTML5 allows you to store all your site data in multiple windows and uses advanced encryption systems, all of which minimize the risks to almost zero.
Many browser games have become possible
Both the outdated Flash plug-in and HTML5 have distinctive features.
However, developers are increasingly favouring the latter technology, and there are enough reasons for that.
