5. Manchester Murder Mysteries Presents: ‘My Bloody Valentine’, A Valentine’s Day Murder Mystery @ Odder Bar, Manchester

A specially written murder mystery event for ‘those who are tired of the traditional Valentine’s celebrations and are looking for something that steps away from the norm’.

4. Lauren Aquilina @ Ruby Lounge, Manchester

Eighteen-year-old singer-songwriter Lauren Aquilina is kicking off her third UK tour at the Ruby Lounge.

It’s all in support of the upcoming release of her EP Liars. Influenced from the likes of Ellie Goulding and Bon Iver, her piano-led music is strikingly beautiful yet gentle – she really is one to watch.

3. Meat Free Valentine’s @ Joshua Brooks, Manchester

This event is for the proper anti-Valentine’s Day lot amongst you. Taking place at the Joshua Brooks nightclub, Meat Free Valentine’s is a house and techno party like no other.

2. Mikill Pane @ Manchester Academy 2, Manchester

Having collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith and Rizzle Kicks under his belt, London rapper Mikill Pane is another great gig to catch on V-Day.

He released his debut album Blame Miss Barclay in late 2013 to some brilliant reviews. It will surely be a night packed with the best in fresh British hip-hop.

Make the big day for lovers a day instead for big laughs.

Chris Ramsey brings his all-conquering The Most Dangerous Man On Saturday Morning TV show to Salford Quays.

The title of his show comes from his incident of being sent off the Soccer AM sofa last year for misbehaving, so you just know this funny man will push the limits. Sack off the chocolates and roses and pull up a seat for one of the best comedy gigs you’ll see this year.
