Crosby, Stills and Nash return to the Manchester Phones4u Arena this October after a lengthy absence from the city.
No fewer than 45 years have passed since the trio of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash were first formed and they remain one of the few sixties groups still flourishing and still eager to perform their greatest hits.
Bringing together musical styles from The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and The Hollies from which these three members used to be a part of respectively, Crosby, Stills and Nash have a unique sound which was quickly identified on their 1969 self-titled debut album Crosby, Stills and Nash.
Known widely for their tight vocal harmonies, folk melodies and deep, intelligent lyrics blended into an acoustic backdrop, Crosby, Stills and Nash have received wide acclaim for their music, showcasing their talent at the Woodstock Festival whilst on their first tour.
As with many groups working through a progressive age of space rock and psychedelia, the musical journey comes with its fair share of turbulence as Crosby experienced with drug addiction, financial problems and even prison. Even after several break-ups, Crosby, Stills and Nash had the collective desire to reform.
This concert is a must-see for anyone either wanting to relive the sounds and memories of the 1960s or just relax and take it all in as a classic set list is laid before your eyes.
Hits such as Marrakesh Express, Our House and Wooden Ships have made the group hugely successful, certainly a group which you could say were in tune with the times.
From past experience of recent concerts, Stills’ creative guitar playing still shines and all three members are as vocally strong as they ever were.
