Pride in Trafford returns with opening celebrations ‘wowing’ in Sale

Pride celebrations have returned to Trafford this week in an opening event that demonstrated the towns community spirit and launched days of queer excellence.

The Chief Executive of Trafford Council officially declared the opening of Pride in Trafford 2024 by raising the Pride flag outside Sale Town Hall.

The opening also included performances from Holly Redford Jones and Peter Riley, as well a rousing spoken word poetry performance from Dominic Berry.

Chief Executive of Trafford Council Sara Todd and Leader of the Council Tom Ross spoke of the importance of pride to Trafford.

The pride events this week mark International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, which is officially on Friday 17th May.

Events continue across the week including a Laugh Riot comedy night and Block Party across the weekend.
