People from across the UK have come together over the past few months to help raise money for the NHS.
Whether it be baking cakes to raise money for the NHS, or walking 100 laps of your garden at the ripe old age of 99, it is clear that little acts of kindness go a long way.
A furloughed retail manager, Aiden Ryan, 28, of Manchester, decided that it was time give something back and started to bake cakes, with all profits going to the NHS.
When asked about his motivation behind raising money for the NHS, Aiden said: “My partner works in research for the NHS and I can see how hard she works, especially with the current pandemic.
“I’m furloughed so I figured I best spend my time doing something productive… so baking cake loaves it was!”
Aiden launched his home-made cake service ‘L O A F’ on Instagram last week and has already had over 20 orders.
He told MM: “It’s great to have so much interest! It tells us two things about Manchester: We love to help and we love cake!”
L O A F has currently raised £100 and with more orders on the way, is hoping to earn more.
Aiden aims to make at least 50 cake loaves before returning to work and will continue to bake when he can outside of working hours.
He said that he has even considered opening a café at some point in the future and would always donate a percentage of his earnings to the NHS, or another worthy cause.
There is one all-important question that is yet to be answered.
