Devoted mums who cheer on their kids playing football from the sidelines come rain or shine, week in and week out, will be able to toast themselves with a well-deserved free drink this summer.
Football mums are often the unsung heroes, playing a pivotal role in footballers’ success, with new stats revealing that the average mum spends 100 minutes a week waiting for their kids before and after training and matches, while almost a third (31%) admitting to waiting around for more than two hours.
The average mum will also be cheering them on at 12 matches every year, with more than one in 10 (11%) attending as many as 25, according to the new study.
Recognising the sacrifice and devotion it takes to go the extra mile each week to support their football stars, Hungry Horse pubs will welcome all the mums to claim a free drink during Euro 2024.
‘So many kids love playing football and sport in general, but none of this would be possible without the unwavering support and commitment of their parents, in particular mums who spend hours and hours a week taxiing their little ones to training and matches,’ said Sarah Williams at Hungry Horse.
To claim the free drink, mums can head to a pub and all they have to do is prove their football mum status when making a food order by bringing along their child in a football kit or showing a medal or picture of their child playing football.
The offer is valid for England’s second group game against Denmark on 20 June, which Hungry Horse is celebrating as their very own ‘National Football Mums Day’ across their pubs, as well as during games through the entire weekend of 22 and 23 June.
