A new coffee house and eatery serving everything on toast is set to launch in Altrincham next month.
The development – fittingly named Toast – is being opened by owner-manager Justin Orange and head chef Ed Carr.
The men behind the scrumptious project told MM that they came up with the idea after visiting similar restaurants in New York and Los Angeles.
When asked why they decided to launch their own in Manchester, Ed summarised: “Basically – I like toast!”
The duo is hoping the restaurant will be ‘something different’ for the people of Manchester.
Justin rightly added: “Who doesn’t like something on toast?”
Toast will offer four or five types of bread a day, made by family bakers Trove in Levenshulme.
But coeliacs need not worry because a gluten-free option will be available every day too at the establishment on Stamford New Road.
Toppings include classic breakfast favourites like eggs florentine, eggs benedict and eggs royale, as well as some more unusual options including prawns, tomato and chilli jam, chorizo and poached egg, and crab, lime, rocket and coriander.
The dessert menu features toast with peaches and mascarpone vanilla cream, and chocolate and hazelnut spread with marshmallows.
Prices range from £5 to £9.50.
Drinks on offer include smoothies and locally-sourced coffee from Heart and Graft and Couch Grind Coffee, as well as craft beers, organic wines and prosecco.
Toast’s official launch is set for September 9, but Justin and Ed are also hosting a soft opening on September 8 where guests can order from the main menu for free in exchange for a donation to the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
