Coronation Street’s cast and crew have been showing that ‘love is love’ no matter what by releasing a music video for Pride, recorded on the soap’s iconic set.
Well-known stars from the soap, alongside a bevy of backstage beauties, all sing and dance down the cobbles to I’m Alive (Life Sounds Like), by Michael Franti & Spearhead.
Other famous locations featured in the video included Underworld, The Rovers Return and even the production houses.
A Corrie statement read: “Our cast and crew support Manchester Pride every year and this year we’re feeling the love so we made a little film about it. Enjoy and please share so we can spread the smiles.”
The video has the message of ‘Love is Love No Matter Who You Love’ and has been shared on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites.
Over the Pride weekend the Corrie team came out in droves to enjoy the weekend.
Stars from the nation’s longest running soap were on board the Coronation Street float which made its way through the parade on Saturday, where well-wishers gave the team a lot of love.
Actors Brooke Vincent and Anthony Cotton joined writers Jonathan Harvey and Debbie Oates and Damon Rocheford in a panel discussion to talk about Coronation Street’s LGBT characters and history.

Also in attendance was the creator of the soap Tony Warren who spoke about being a gay man in the 60’s, ‘bully boy writers’ and his frustrations about not having a gay character sooner.
He said: “I remember sitting in a script meeting and hearing these men describe one actor as a poof, a storyline described as poofy, I just said to them ‘without a poof none of you would be in work this morning’.
“It was a case of if you’re saying something about my brothers, you are saying something about me, and I hadn’t realised I felt that way until that point.”
Brook Vincent, Jennie Mc Alpine and Kym Marsh were just some of the stars who made an appearance over the weekend and Anthony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully, also joined the celebrations .
Anthony revealed during the panel discussion last week that he regularly received abuse by other gay men when he went to the gay village.
He said: “I get a lot of stick from people who say, and these are people who are 21 years old, ‘you’ve put the gay cause back 21 years’.
“Or they say ‘you’re a disgrace to this village’. You’d be surprised how many kids say that to me.
“Sean has never had to explain who he was, he never had to come out, he was just accepted into the community of Weatherfield from the start.
“So for every one of those people who say to me that Sean’s a stereotype, and that he doesn’t have a political storyline, actually the fact he’s never had to explain himself makes him the most political gay character in soap.”
