Pop icon Rick Astley will launch his autobiography at the Bridgewater Hall next month.
The Lancashire singer will discuss his new book, Never, on 7 October.
The autobiography charts Astley’s rise from his hometown of Newtown-le-Willows to superstardom, and his hiatus from the industry at 27.
The book also sheds light on the star’s personal life, from the pressures of life on the road to family therapy.
Astley will be in conversation with author and DJ Dave Haslam, with an audience Q&A afterwards.
Every ticketholder will receive a copy of Never, courtesy of Chorley-based independent bookshop ebb & flo.
Diane Gunning of ebb & flo said: “Rick is a huge and much-loved figure in British pop history, with a fascinating story to tell, but at the same time he also remains a fantastic down-to-earth Lancashire lad.”
Astley is best known for the songs “Never Gonna Give You Up” and “Together Forever” from the album Whenever You Need Somebody, which sold 15 million copies.
His popularity saw a resurgence in the 2010s with the trend of “Rickrolling”, or posting disguised internet links to the “Never Gonna Give You Up” music video.
Astley made his first appearance at Glastonbury in 2023.
Last month, the singer released a remaster of his 1991 album Free, featuring Michael McDonald among other artists.
