Corrie star Kym Marsh has revealed that she made a tattoo fail of epic proportions when she got a permanent ink tribute to her then husband, Jack Ryder.
Speaking candidly on Loose Women, the brunette beauty informed the panel that she got more than she bargained for when she had the Chinese symbol tattooed on her lower back.
Kym – who believed her inking said ‘Jack’ – wasn’t made aware of her faux pas until she visited a Chinese restaurant years later and realised that it was quite the political statement she was making.
She said: “I got a Chinese symbol tattoo when they were popular.
“It was meant to say ‘Jack’, the name of my first husband, a few years later we went to a Chinese restaurant and I was wearing a low back dress and the waiter went, ‘Ahh, communist!’”
This admission from the soap stunner left the audience in fits of giggles, and panellist Andrea McLean took the opportunity to assure Kym that it could be a lot worse.
Andrea said: “At least he didn’t say, ‘Ahh, chicken chow mein!’”
The 38- year-old has since covered the ink error with a Butterfly following the end of her marriage to Jack.

Kym has notoriously had a pretty stormy love life in recent years, but it seems that thinks are going well with her new beau Dan Hooper.
Her latest lover has a four-year-old child with Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Waring, and things between the two actresses reached boiling point when a twitter spat erupted online.
Luckily the ice has thawed between the two and Stephanie has revealed in Closer that he had let go of her grudge ‘for the sake of the kids.’
The actress who plays Cindy in the channel 4 soap show was reportedly fuming when Kym Marsh started a relationship with her ex following the breakdown of her marriage to Jamie Lomas.
Stephanie may have been angry at Kym due to ties with her now ex husband and Hollyoaks actor Jamie after Kym cheated on him with her co-star Oliver Mellor after falling in love on the Corrie set.
Despite their whirlwind romance, Oliver seems like a distant memory now as Dan was by Kym’s side at the ITV studios, really to take a selfie backstage.
