Britain’s Got Talent star Myra Dubois reveals her glamorous, interactive take on the Wicked Stepmother as Cinderella returns to Manchester’s Opera House this Christmas.
The classic fairytale is set to return to Manchester as a pantomime production from December 14 to January 5.
Myra told MM: “I’m looking forward to coming back to Manchester and playing to those gorgeous Mancunian audiences.”
Myra is set to tackle the role of Cinderella’s wicked stepmother in this year’s pantomime.
Describing her role, she said: “I like to play my stepmother a bit more glamours, a bit more fun.
“It’s still your traditional panto villain but with a Myra twist.”
She added: “Hopefully the audience will hate me, but they will love hating me.”
Myra also expressed her excitement about a particular moment in the production, revealing a sneak peak of what to expect.
She said: “A part – that I’m not in – that I’m looking forward to is the end of Act One when Cinderella goes to the ball because I have seen what they’ve got planned and it’s going to be spectacular.
“I think it’s going to blow the audiences socks off so I’m looking forward to that.”
Myra said bowing to the audience is also her favourite part of any production.
She said: “It is the moment for us as performers to look at the audience and show them respect and to give them thanks for letting us do what we do for 2 hours.
“I always love standing there with the whole company with our hands in the air – like you’re at the beginning of the YMCA – and I just look in the audience and I just see the excitement on their faces.
“I’m always beaming like a Cheshire cat during that bit because it’s so nice to feel that love from them.”
