Stone Roses at the Etihad crowned Manchester’s hottest ticket of 2016

The Stone Roses’ sold-out homecoming shows at the Etihad Stadium have been crowned Manchester’s Ticket of the Year.

In a survey by Ticketmaster – the online ticket seller – the gigs just pipped Coldplay’s Head Full of Dreams Tour and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s The River Tour to the top of the table.

Not only did The Stone Roses – Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni – com  out on top as Manchester’s top ticket, they also placed fourth in the overall UK Ticket of the Year 2016 poll – proving British rock culture is still going strong.

Other events to make Manchester’s top tickets included Beyonce’s Old Trafford stint of The Formation World Tour, Muse’s Manchester Arena performance, and AC/DC at the Etihad Stadium.

Ticketmaster has also found out which gigs punters are most looking forward to next year – and former Take That singer Robbie Williams has topped that chart.

Radiohead – set to headline Glastonbury – Take That themselves, Kings of Leon and the Download rock festival are also in the top ten of mot anticipated gigs of next year.
