The Lightning Seeds and Reverend and the Makers and will headline the Style Rocks GS music festival in Warrington.
The not-for-profit festival will return for the ninth time after financial restrictions meant that it was unable to go ahead last year.
Inspiral Carpets keyboard player and radio DJ, Clint Boon, will also be on the decks at the festival.
Saturday’s show will see 22 local bands take to the stage while the headliners will be in town on the Sunday.
“We are very pleased about providing a platform for aspiring musicians,” said festival organiser Stephen Oates.
“The Golden Square have done a great job in signing these big name acts, and it is great that new bands can share the stage with them.
“We are also doing quite a few development projects with young musicians in the area.”
Previous headliners include Manchester band the Happy Mondays, and pop act Scouting for Girls.
To help the event go ahead this year, Stephen got help of Warrington’s Golden Square shopping centre.
It was decided that it would benefit both parties if they turned the music event into a wider cultural festival.
This year, music will be accompanied by fashion and photography events.
An exhibition by rock photographer, Denis O’Regan, is currently on display at the Golden Square and includes photographs of David Bowie, Bob Marley and Amy Winehouse.
The shopping centre will also display 15 original fashion pieces as part of the festivities.
“The introduction of fashion brings a fresh angle to the festival which was also another good idea that Golden Square had as well,” Stephen told MM.
The Style Rocks GS music festival runs from May 28 – May 29.
