A local community centre put on a night to remember in Didsbury as people got together to celebrate a much loved cancer treatment centre.
Local DJ John King put on a successful night of Soul Therapy at St Catherine’s Community Centre to raise money for The Christie and aid their fight against cancer, spinning the discs well into the evening.
He said: “It’s been brilliant, and I wanted to give something back to the wonderful people at The Christie.”
Having been treated for prostate cancer, John reminded the crowd to keep an eye on their body and bodily functions. The NHS states that issues with urinating, including difficulty starting or stopping, could be a sign of prostate cancer.
With funds raised from contributions and a raffle, the night of dancing at St Catherine’s brought the total raised to date by Soul Therapy up to an impressive £9609.42.
The next night has been scheduled for the 20th September 2025.
